Where the money actually goes
The gap between a $20 regular cut and a $25 skin fade is the blend. A regular cut takes the sides down to a guard and tidies the neck and edges. A skin fade drops the bottom of the fade to bare skin and then walks it up through several guard lengths until you cannot see where one stops and the next starts. That is fifteen to twenty extra minutes of clipper-over-comb work, which is why it books 50 minutes instead of 45.
The same logic runs through the rest of the board. A beard trim only at $15 is a cleanup — length off, neckline tidy, done in 20 minutes. Add the shape-up at $20 and you are paying for the cheek line and jaw line being cut in deliberately rather than just trimmed around.
The combo is the value play
A men's skin fade at $25 plus a beard trim and shape-up at $20 is $45 if you buy them separately. The haircut + beard combo is $35 and books a single 60-minute sit. If you wear a beard and you are already getting cut, that is the line on the board worth reading twice.
Add-ons at $5
Eyebrow trim and lineup is $5 and adds ten minutes. Custom designs — a part, a pattern, a line cut into the fade — are also $5 and add fifteen. Both ride on top of a haircut rather than replacing one, so budget the base service plus the add-on.
